As 2022 came to an end, Cornett Roofing was fortunate enough to be awarded two significant industry awards for our metal roofing projects. These awards come from two respected industry sources, Professional Roofing Magazine and the Metal Roofing Alliance. Below, you can see the details of projects and awards we received in the last quarter of 2022.
Professional Roofing Magazine – Project of the Month (December 2022)
For their December 2022 issue, Cornett Roofing was awarded the Project of the Month for a Metal Shake Series installation on a historic farmhouse in central Indiana. The original slate roof had deteriorated beyond the point of repair or restoration, but due to the high cost of natural slate, new slate was not a viable option. The home owner was looking for a long-term roofing solution that would retain the unique, multi-colored look of the original roof, while offering a classic aesthetic that fit the farmhouse.
Cornett Roofing installed a two-tone, Metal Shake Series roof, manufactured by Modern Metal Roofing. Comprised of alternating layers of Colonial Slate and Charcoal panels, the newly installed mansard portions of the roof deliver the eye-catching color contrast of the old roof, while delivering 50+ years of future service. The flat, upper section was roofed with a white standing seam roof to create a contrast between the mansard and flat areas. The customer was thrilled with the completed project and Cornett Roofing is proud it was selected as the Project of the Month!

Cornett Roofing was hired to replace a “30 year” asphalt shingle roof that had failed just 10 years after installation. The owners of the large, 10,000 sq. ft. dwelling in Cincinnati, Ohio wanted to incorporate a rooftop solar energy system onto the home, but didn’t want to risk another premature roof failure. Cornett Roofing proposed installing a 50+ year Metal Tile Series system, manufactured by Modern Metal Roofing, along with a 20kw solar system. The Metal Tile Series is an excellent alternative to classic clay tile roofing, providing the same look as Spanish tile, in a much lighter and significantly less expensive solution.
